Trevor Walker

Trevor managed the Aboriginal Corporation for over 11 years. He is a proud Indigenous Australian with ancestry being traced to the Walbunja, Yuin and Gumbaynggirr Aboriginal Groups. 

Trevor has extensive experience in the Aboriginal Homeless/Housing sector dealing with crisis accommodation and outreach services.

Managing Director

Trevor is a proud Indigenous Australian with ancestry being traced to the Walbunja, Yuin and Gumbaynggirr Aboriginal Groups. Raised on an Aboriginal mission in La Perouse, NSW, with his parents and siblings, Trevor attended schools in the local area.  An avid sportsman, Trevor excelled in first-grade premiership rugby for Randwick, NSW Combined High Schools’ Rugby Union and was the NSW Southern Zone State Sailing Champion.

Trevor attended the University of Western Sydney where he completed a B.A. in Community Development before pursuing his passion to give back to the community by working in Veterans Affairs and the ATO in the public service recruitment and training programs aimed at assisting Aboriginal people in obtaining public service jobs, thereby increasing Aboriginal participation in the public service sector. Trevor successfully went on to work as a Manager in the Aboriginal Homeless/Housing sector dealing with crisis accommodation and outreach services.

Trevor managed the Aboriginal Corporation for over 11 years. He is an invaluable member of the Murrina Group, using his public service skills, extensive Indigenous network, and experience in bridging the gap between the Aboriginal community and the construction industry to accelerate Aboriginal participation rates across the industry.

Kelvin Liew

Kelvin was born in Sydney and has held key leadership positions in businesses across a range of industries. He is a proud Australian of mixed heritage that attended various overseas international schools before returning to study at the University of Sydney where he completed a B.A. in Political Economy, graduated from Sydney University Law School and was admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of NSW.

As a lawyer, Kelvin is broadly experienced across many areas of law, all NSW jurisdictions and holds extensive experience in technology and construction law litigation in the Supreme Court of NSW, commercial transactions and corporate governance. This background gives Kelvin the ability to understand and manage vast social, cultural and racial differences in a way that unites individuals and develops harmonious business relationships, with a focus on corporate leadership that drives balanced and ethical growth.

Kelvin is a key member of the Murrina Group, using his corporate and legal experience to lead, secure and manage the group in a manner consistent with the vision of the company – to make a meaningful difference in the Indigenous community and to improve Aboriginal participation in the construction industry.


• Bernard Kelly

General Manager

Bernard was born in rural Victoria and has worked across a broad spectrum of Industries and Companies in various positions; from labourer to senior manager of many large Australian and Foreign Companies. His varied background has developed a strong understanding of both Operations and Corporate Management.

His working career spans engineering, education, human resources and general management in areas including civilian engineer in the dockyards Sydney, teacher in secondary and tertiary education (Victoria), General Manager for Titan Group, General Manager Allied Mills and Director for Goodman Fielder (Snack Foods, Baking and Milling – Australia/NZ).  He is a Graduate in the following fields; Engineering, Education and Psychology.

Bernard is an important member of the Murrina Group, using his general operations and corporate knowledge and experience to ensure the work undertaken is aligned with the vision and business plan of Murrina. His passion is to make a meaningful difference in the Indigenous community by assisting in the development of strong role models across the community and in particular, within the construction industry.

Shalini Chand

• Shalini Chand

Finance Manager

Shalini moved to Australia thirteen years ago and has worked across in both chartered accounting and commercial sectors where she has gained broad experience in finance and tax. She studied Accounting, Tax and Commercial Law at The University of Auckland, New Zealand and has also completed Chartered Practising Accountant qualification with CPA Australia.

As the Finance Manager, Shalini manages the day-to-day financial routines and works closely with our leadership team in driving the results and providing accurate and meaningful financial data.

Shalini is an important member of The Murrina Group, using her strong financial experience and background to build, manage and lead the company to a brighter future.
When not at work, Shalini is busy with her toddler daughter playing dress ups, travelling, and enjoying time with her family.

Bruno Martins

• Bruno Martins

Operations Manager NSW/ACT

Bruno moved to Australia where for the last six years he has focused primarily on the Tower Crane and Hoist business across Australia and New Zealand. During this time he took a leading role in many projects from residential to complex high-rise projects.

Born in Brazil, Bruno studied Engineering then worked across a broad range of industries such as chemicals, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, commercial low and high rise buildings. His career path started off as a Project Engineer moving to Operations Manager and finally Director; all of these roles resulting in a strong comprehension of business requirements.

He completed his MBA in finance and business in (2013). He brings experience in design, site layouts, process improvement, project management and business systems and acumen into the Murrina business.

Bruno is an important member of The Murrina Group, using his technical knowledge and strength of business systems to provide our customers with reliable, high-quality plant and equipment and service across NSW & ACT. He is lives by our Values and in particular stands for Inclusiveness and respect for all people. He is here to make a meaningful difference for the Indigenous community by mentoring our First Nations People within Murrina in particular; to become the best they can in the construction industry.

When not at work, Bruno will be onto some adventure, be it skydiving, hiking or rock climbing at the blue mountains or somewhere around the world.

Darren Hill

• Darren Hill

Operations Manager Vic/SA

Based in Melbourne, Darren comes with a broad portfolio of impressive capabilities. He has worked at the highest levels in plant maintenance, materials handling, fleet maintenance, engineering and commercial scuba diving.

He comes with an impressive strong record of employment with companies and government bodies such as Melbourne Water, Pacific Materials Handling and Lendlease. He is multi-trade qualified with an endless list of certificates that complements his trades. Darren’s priority is to understand his equipment intimately, then strives to meet and exceed the expectation of the project or the individual end-user. It is well known in the industry, be it a Tower Crane, Hoist, Mobile plant or other, you will be receiving the – Qantas – of the fleet if prepared and maintained by Darren and his team. Darren’s style of management is to lead by example. He is extremely well qualified in the construction sector where he has built processes, systems and maintenance programs around a team culture to ensure the delivery of well-maintained capital equipment to construction sites. Safety is his highest priority across the workplace. Embracing all cultures and in particular our First Nations People; Darren is known for building on existing individual skill levels to produce high team morale and strong business outcomes. Darren is also passionate about his personal hobbies where his attention to detail has brought him great success in competition with building and racing motorbikes, 60’s muscle cars and custom firearms. As a respected and accomplished long-range custom rifle bench rest shooter, his self-discipline and passion for excellence is abundant and reflected in everything he does.
